Attention 18 to 20-Year-Olds in Canada and the United States regarding the Obligation to Fast

Dear 18 to 20-Year-Olds in Canada and the United States,

Please note that you are bound to fast on Ash Wednesday and Good Friday under pain of mortal sin.  The 1917 Code of Canon Law, which required fasting starting at 21 years of age, is no longer in force in this regard.

For those outside of Canada and the United States, please check with your local authorities.

  1. What do the Resistance priests teach in regard to fasting for the 18 – 20 year olders? Which code are they known to be using?
