  1. I do not know if Father is correct (at 1:04:21), that the last Pope who sells out the church, is Bergoglio, as Bergoglio never was Pope.
Akita may refer here to Benedict, who prevented that a. the conclave was valid, b. was led bij the Holy Spirit and c. thus that a valid successor was elected as a pope.

      • Well, a, b, and c above? Doesn’t that sound like selling out?

With the best (nouvelle theologie) intentions of course. Sincerely convinced of a shared papacy, but nevertheless in error.

Or, as Ann Barnhardt puts it: “he was the worst pope ever”. And the other day I read: ‘while flying for the wolves, he threw us for the wolves’.

        • But selling out makes it sound that he did it on purpose, that is, he intentionally wanted to damage the Church. No? If you answer, “Yes”, then I don’t agree with you.

          • Could be that “Akita” refers to selling out in effect, not in intention. Could be that Benedict had good intentions, in his opinion that the papacy can be shared, expanded, de-mystified, and he acted in good will accordingly. However, despite his well meant nouvelle theology, the result of his action was, de facto, a selling out: creating a situation in which only an antipope could be elected. It’s a thought.
