Catholics Petition Rome To Officially Investigate The Resignation of Benedict XVI

This is a laudable cause. However, the problem with this group, led by Dr. Andrea Cionci, is that they believe that the papacy cannot continue until this issue is resolved. They make canonical procedure of electing a pope almost into a dogmatic one. Obviously, this is nonsense. Since the death of Pope Benedict XVI on December 31, 2022, what prevents Jorge Bergoglio from acquiring the papacy via universal and peaceful acceptance is his public manifest formal heresy.

  1. What if Divine Law worked through Canon Law? I agree with you on what you say, but my understanding is that the Catholics, at all levels, have the responsibility to defend the Pope or, in this case, his memory. That means actively fighting the anti-Pope. Each of us has to act as if everything depended on us, knowing that nothing depend on us, I can not remember who I am quoting, St Thomas Aq? This is very important because everybody fights in his own way. What I find unjust and illogical is that the ones that decide to wait for God to intervene are also the ones undermining the courageous work of the people in the front line, I am talking about almost all of the traditional Catholic commentators. I understand not giving praise to the, but at least there should be no woking against them. Don Minutella and Dr. Cionci instead, get deadly attacks or derision from left, and below, – understandably so, but, paradoxically and viciously, also from the “right”.

    • The only thing that currently prevents Jorge Bergoglio from acquiring the papacy through universal and peaceful acceptance is his public manifest formal heresy. Divine Law can be expressed through Canon Law, but is not dependent upon it. Divine Law is the proper field of moral theology.

      • Public manifest formal heresy (as a sin) is against the Divine Law. It is a divine impediment to a valid papacy just like being a woman is.

  2. Bergoglio is an anti-Pope because Pope Benedict, according to Canon Law, never abdicated. This is why Bergoglio can be an apostate or, worse, be working for the devil. Dogma and Canon Law are two different things. A dogma is forever, Canon Law rules until it is changed. Up to that moment, until it is changed, it simply rules. What Canon Law says now is that the art. 332.2 was not respected in the Declaratio, no dogma there. If we want to make the law look like it is dogma, we can, but it is incorrect. If we want to ignore the law because it is made by men, even though it is made on Catholic principles, we can do that as well, but it is something that it is not happening, the law rules whether we respect it or not. The point is, this is a widespread opinion not just mine, that the Impeded see creates problems for the Benedict “haters”, because they do not believe that such move from our last Pope, saved the Church. History will establish where the truth is. I suggest that both parts would agree to stop at the non existence of an abdication or at the substantial error, with no positive judgement of Pope Benedict. At this point forces can be joined against the immediate threat, Bergoglio and his gang. I know for sure that the Impeded See faction is willing to stop at the substantial error. It does not seem that the other faction is accepting this agreement, its supporters continue to discredit Bergoglio, the impeded see believers and, in a more subtle way, Pope Benedict. Meanwhile Bergoglio is only challenged on a concrete way by the Impeded See supporters because the motion presented to the tribunal is an official act of denounce, protocoled by the Vatican court., it will be there forever. We can be superficial and say that the fox is asked to investigate the chicken raid, but if the Court does not respond within July 6th 2024, it is not a good look for Bergoglio. So far they have not responded. There is no easy answer for it and they know it. That is why the law is a good tool to use. While the detractors are smiling about this initiative, I challenge them to produce any concrete act against Bergoglio they have done so far other than words. Meanwhile, Catholic souls are lost every day for the impunity of Bergoglio.
My second thought is on the universal acceptance. This thing will never fly, one because I know of four to ten thousand Catholics, including at least priests, that will never accept Bergoglio. Universal means everybody. The second point is that universal acceptance is more of an abstract idea, in fact I am almost sure that it is not regulated by the Canon Law.

    • The papacy will continue regardless of whether Benedict XVI has been shown to invalidly resign. Canon Law cannot stop Divine Law from continuing the papacy.
